About me

Weddingphotographer from Utrecht

When I was asked for my first wedding as a wedding photographer I said flat out “no thanks”.
The image I had of weddings was dull and boring . I didn’t see myself taking cliché snapshots. Besides, I hadn’t been photographing that long and I was afraid I would mess it up, because chliché or not, at a wedding you only have one chance.

Because I had made a promise to myself that I would take on all challenges in the field of photography, so I could no longer hide behind my fear of failure, I took the job anyway. My first job as a wedding photographer!

And BOY WAS I WRONG. How wonderful it was! All those happy people, the love – not only from the bride and groom towards each other but also from all the other people present, the beautiful words, the tears, the details… I think I had to recover from it for a week and couldn’t stop talking about it because I thought it was so awesome!

Since then I knew: this is what I want to do! The first two years I had nightmares every night before a wedding where everything went wrong -pure nerves 🙂 And although I no longer have nightmares I still find it a bit exciting every time. Because you don’t want to give less than your most beautiful photos to a couple. About 150 weddings later I still find weddings magical and I capture them with as much pleasure as the first time.
Being from Utrecht I have seen a lot of wedding venues in and around Utrecht but I also enjoy traveling to other places in the Netherlands to find beautiful and special wedding venues. Country houses, marrying in the woods or in a greenhouse, castles, I love the diversity of beautiful venues! Although I have to admit I have a small weakness for intimate weddings that involve a lot of nature/outdoors.
